Senior Employee Relations & Engagement Partner

Responsibility Summary:

Reporting to the HR Manager, the Employee Relations & Engagement Partner is responsible for championing and advocating for the employee experience at all stages of the employee life cycle. This role is a key interface in ensuring the effective delivery of HR services and initiatives and providing dedicated, high quality, professional and expert Employee Relations services to all managers and employees in the market. The role will partner and collaborate with HR Centers of Expertise in the development and delivery of HR solutions, bringing a real world perspective to any initiatives and execution of them. This role is responsible for the execution and ownership of site employee relations policies, processes, and practices, providing expert consultation and guidance to managers and employees, working to deliver and ensure appropriate responses to any related employment issues that arise, whilst also working to proactively support and maintain a positive employment climate. This role has no direct financial or people management responsibilities.

Key Accountabilities:

Business Relationship Management
  • Gather, collate and report on appropriate local business area perspectives on specific issues, problems, requirements, as directed.
  • Provide first point of contact for local employees, providing initial advice and guidance to team members on a range of different HR matters, and shepherding to other appropriate COEs as necessary.
  • Attend regular business area employee meetings, to share HR updates/information, and to intake any concerns raised.
  • As directed by the HR Manager, gather and collate a range of data and metrics, providing initial level analysis for review and subsequent use of other relevant parties, to ensure appropriate business insights are considered in any people related initiatives.

 Employee Engagement – Employee Experience Advocate
  • As directed, work as a key contributor in the execution and delivery of QVC’s employee survey, supporting any communications, rollout plans, and any follow up activities for relevant business areas.
  • In partnership with HR Manager and business managers (and COEs as necessary), work to drive demonstrable and measurable interventions to increase/maintain employee engagement scores on the annual employee survey.
  • Advocate for the employee lifecycle through support of and/or execution of:
- Pre-boarding activities for exempt employees (onboarding plans, logistics, etc.) - Onboarding activities (orientation, QVC Difference, etc.) - Retention activities: supporting employee & manager discussions and analysis, as assigned - Safety advocacy - Relevant policy and compliance (i.e. anti-discrimination, non-harassment training, etc.) - Off boarding activities - Local Health and Wellbeing initiatives and activities.

- Talent Acquisition: support with internal team movement/placement processes; support execution of large scale hiring efforts, support interview processes where necessary. - Organizational Effectiveness: communication of org effectiveness processes; supports business change communications; facilitates Performance & Development review process through communications, provides rating consistency analysis Compensation & Benefits: facilitates merit increase and bonus process; supports internal compensation offers outside of guidelines

Employee Relations
  • Provide specialist and expert advice, guidance and counsel to managers, supervisors and HR colleagues on all employee relations issues (i.e. conduct, performance, termination of employment, employee complaints and compliance issues), policy interpretation and questions.
- Provide templates, coaching and guidance, and advice to managers in the completion of ER processes, working to ensure robust and equitable outcomes. - Ensure any employee relations situations are closed with appropriate recommended action steps, and appropriate follow ups are actioned. - Oversee and manage any employment termination processes, to ensure these are done in the most professional, efficient manner.
  • Conduct investigations in line with applicable practices, and in support of Compliance team directives.
  • Provide HR representation for managers and employees in any formal processes for manager and above roles (disciplinary, performance, sickness absence etc.), ensuring decisions are consistent with best practice, legislation, QVC culture and policy.
  • Champion and promote a positive employee relations climate, providing appropriate counsel and support to ensure that any ER processes are delivered to maximize the employee experience.
  • Utilize a range of other data sources (Q Perspectives survey results, Exit Interviews, employee social media postings, etc.), to assess the site/market ER climate, identify any opportunities for pro-active ER intervention, and to make recommendations for making improvements.
  • Using a range of available data, identify actual and potential employee relations issues, and provide practical solutions to resolve in line with best practice, legislation, QVC culture and policy.
  • Where applicable, under the guidance of the HR Manager, manages relationship with site employee representation bodies at functional level (e.g. Works Council, Employee Forum), ensuring frameworks and processes around business engagement are established and followed appropriately.
  • Responsible for the coordination and organization of engagement with appropriate site employee representative bodies (organizes meetings, ensures appropriate appointments to the body etc.).
  • Supports and facilitates the business in engaging with the body on appropriate information and consultation processes,
Where applicable, contributes to the design of collective labor agreements and facilitates agreement processes (for example with the Workers Council).

Critical Skills/Knowledge:

  • Understanding of HR related regulations, especially specific to Krakow
  • Understanding of change management and human resource issues
  • Understanding HR metrics and best practices and ability to utilize these in driving performance improvements
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills including conflict management
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills; ability to effectively deliver training to employees
  • Solid problem solving and decision making skills
  • Strong organizational, prioritization and time management skills
  • Highly collaborative
  • Coaching, mediation and consulting skills
  • Ability to analyse data and draw relevant conclusions
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Degree with a major in HR or business – CIPD or equivalent a plus
  • experience in an HR function, with strong experience in employee relations a plus
  • Change management experience preferred
  • Experience working in a shared service or operations environment preferred
  • Market specific: solid background and experience in working with relevant employee representation bodies
  • Solid knowledge in labor law specific to Poland
  • Fluent in English
