Our Client is a Fortune 150 company, global provider of technology products, services and solutions. They are currently building European HR Shared Service Centre to be located in Gdańsk.

Position and scope

The position will be accountable for contributing to the development of a long-term strategy and driving operational performance for our Client’s EMEA Human Resources shared services organization comprised of HR administrative services, HR policies & programs, and recruiting. The role reports to a Vice President, Human Resources – EMEA and the VP of Global Shared Service based in US. The position will be located in Gdansk, Poland. This person will work closely with their counterparts in APAC and NA to operationalize the strategic priorities for Human Resources shared services globally.

 The ideal candidate is a seasoned Human Resources professional who has an expertise with best in class set up and management of shared services / solution center environments in a major corporation. This position is responsible for the development, implementation and ongoing operation of the Human Resources shared services processes, programs, and technology systems in support of optimizing the scalability of Client’s EMEA Human Resources function.

Internal Focus

  • Continue to build the Shared Services function & team, taking into account needed leading edge experience and languages.
  • Drive centralization of activities still taking place in local shared services centers
  • Identify compliance and labor legislation topics by working with compliance and legal on centralization methodologies, clearly spelling out what needs to physically stay local.
  • Continuous assessment of current & future state while establishing operational priorities.
  • Close collaboration with EMEA and local HR Business Partners and HR Centers of Excellence
  • Close collaboration with HRIS towards the use of best-in-class HR shared services technology systems.
  • Working with global counterparts to drive HR shared services standards across regions.
  • Support the shared services site from an overall HR perspective

 External Focus
  • Constantly bringing forth ideas for improvements to the capabilities of HR shared services with a bias towards best-in-class programs, processes, and technology.
  • Vendor management in the interest of constantly optimizing HR shared services performance.
  • Monitoring trends and best practices across industries to keep HR at the leading edge.

MISSION CRITICAL OBJECTIVES – FIRST TWELVE MONTHS

To support global HR strategy, this role will focus on several priorities which include:
  • Financial Strength -
    • Create HR solutions center and rationalize processes to keep within budget
  • Operational Excellence -
    • Increase knowledge and visibility of HR programs by establishing and formalized communication cadence including a calendar for reporting to HR leadership on critical programs.
    • Design and implement leading edge HR administrative process practices
    • Define local vs central practices
    • Design and implement HR practices and client support practices for the local organization, including implementation of global HR programs.
  • Customer Differentiation -
    • Improve awareness and use of the HR Solutions Center Administrative Services Pillar through proactive, ongoing communications with the employees and managers.
  • Talent for the Future -
    • Build multilingual world class shared services team
    • Cross-train HR Solutions Center team members across pillars to ensure highest level of resource flexibility and functional resilience.

 CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a:
  • Multi-disciplinary knowledge of HR management, with expertise in HR policy, program & process management in a pan EMEA environment of an US based company. .
  • Strong knowledge of multi country HR administration, as well as legal matters awareness.
  • Successful track record of instituting continuous processes improvement & quality control, creating efficiencies through technology, and driving results via established performance metrics.
  • Proven ability to organize and plan effectively to meet both short and long range project objectives.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and influencing multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and assume responsibility for decisions impacting service performance and costs.
  • Strong leadership ability to manage, develop, and motivate others.
  • Expertise in the optimization HR shared services technologies for performance improvement (e.g., case management, document management).
  • Working knowledge of HRIS systems (Workday is highly preferred).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Full fluency in English is a must, an additional European language a plus.
  • Experience as an HR generalist / HR Business Partner.

  EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
  • 10+ years progressive HR management experience in multi-cultural, multi-country environment.
  • 5+ years directing a progressive HR shared services function in a major corporation, preferably US organization
  • Experience implementing leading-edge HR strategies.
  • Direct experience working in a highly visible, professional position with a senior leadership team with high standards and high expectations.
  • Experience using and implementing process enablement technology.
  • University degree (4 years minimum)
