Communications and Learning & Development Partner

Responsibility Summary:

Communications: Partner with the HR Manager and GBS Site Lead to design an employer branding strategy for QVC GBS to build market presence and competitiveness. Creating, planning and executing internal communications for employees in GBS Poland, working to ensure consistency of our global messaging, support our employee brand launch and foster enhanced employee engagement. L&D: Partner with HR Manager / EU/JP L&D Manager and or subject matter experts to identify key learning objectives and content then evaluate whether to procure (open source or vendor) or design potential solution, based on uniqueness of learning content. Ensure local initiatives are delivered to consistent global Development standards and practices. Shape learning trends and follow industry and emerging trends regarding instructional design to build and improve QVC’s learning solutions.
 
Key Accountabilities:

  • Assess current needs of GBS to effectively communicate internally, both within the immediate functional team and to all employees.
  • Create an external communications strategy and plan and be experienced and confident building solid relationships with the media in Poland and beyond.
  • Advance an integrated strategic communications program for GBS that elevates communications across the network and connects to the overall company communication strategy.
  • Create fresh, innovative communication approaches and consistently execute superbly, quickly and efficiently. Utilize multiple communication channels (including web, video, visual, social and others) to reach a diverse workforce, including wired and nonwired employees. Tailor communications to various audiences within the workforce.
  • Write accurate, compelling and impactful copy to communicate with clarity and effectiveness about organizational change, new initiatives, etc., in a way that all readers clearly understand.
  • Develop and execute communications for senior executives, designed to educate, engage and establish rapport with all employees through timely and candid messaging.
  • Establish a high level of influence with clients. Must be viewed as a trusted advisor by senior executives within the company.
  • Ensure communications needs are being met in a creative and accurate manner.
    • Partner with HR Manager and Business Leaders to identify key learning objectives for GBS to ensure high impact Leadership development/Functional/ Technical learning solutions (web based, e-learning or facilitated workshops) to meet global/market functional/technical learning priorities. Identify content then evaluate whether to procure (open source or vendor) or design potential solution, based on uniqueness of learning content.
    • In partnership with HR manager and EU/JP L&D Manager to identify potential open source or vendor solutions to meet learning needs & evaluate options with subject matter expert (if necessary). Support solutions procurement as necessary.
    • For in-house solutions, conceptualize, storyboard and deliver contextually-rich, interactive and engaging solutions (classroom or e-learning) that meet identified learning objectives & deliver them where necessary.
    • Work closely with local SMEs to ensure globally consistent learning solutions. Partner with multimedia developer to build and deliver solutions where appropriate.
    • In partnership with HR Manager and EU/JP L&D Manager identify key measures to assess effectiveness of solution and follow up on feedback to refine/improve future delivery as necessary.
    • Follow industry and emerging trends regarding Learning and Development to build and improve QVC’s learning solutions.

Critical Skills/Knowledge:
  • Ability to build relationships with people at all levels of the organization and win the confidence of senior executives as a strategic business partner.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply complex information to create compelling communications
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, facilitation, and learner-centered activities.
  • Knowledge of Leadership development theories, frameworks and market trends
  • Knowledge of personality assessments types.
  • Confident facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to be creative, flexible, and innovative in course design and delivery.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, adhere to budgets and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to support development in English as well as market language to ensure content is accurate.
  • Strong passion for learning and communication
  • Creative and agility thinking in order to design or to improve.
  • Bachelor Degree in Instructional Design, Development and Evaluation; Learning Technologies, or a related degree is required; master’s degree is preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience as a facilitator/trainer of leadership and professional development content preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience as a communications professional, specifically building working with executives on their communications plans and dealing with external stakeholders such as the media.
